BSU Men Under Attack At DU

Allegations of attack by Bangladesh Chatra League (BCL) on Bangladesh Student Union (BSU) activists in Dhaka University (DU) area. Four including the President-Secretary of BSU DU were injured on the incident.

The attack took place on Thursday (December 14) around 1:30 pm. The injured are being treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).

The injured are - DU Student Union President Meghmallar Bosu (27), General Secretary Main Ahmed (25), Dhaka Metropolitan Student Union Ass. General Secretary Tajmir Tajwar Shubhra (26) and Private University Committee member Shahriar Shihab (23).

On Thursday, BSU leaders and activists were sitting and drinking tea at DU TSC. After that, when they were leaving in a rickshaw, Meghmallar Bosu and Shubhra were beaten up by some activists of DU Chhatra League who were on motorcycles and blocked their way in Shahbagh area. On the other hand, Main Ahmed was beaten up in TSC area and Shihab in VC Chattar.

In the condition of injuries, all the four first went to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital and received treatment. Then went to Dhaka Medical.

In charge of the police camp of DMCH Bachchu Mia told the press citing the doctor that, Meghmallar has an injury in his left eye. In addition, everyone has injuries on their bodies. They are being treated in the emergency.
